MY CONVERSATIONS WITH THE DEVIL (PART II)

- I was wondering what kind of elaborate scenario you were going to use this time,
but I see nothing special. Only you and me.

- Well, I could perceive last time you did not care for theatricals, so I decided to
go with no frills this time.

- Fine with me. Let's see.....Ah yes! I remember. You were telling me that humans
were the key to the whole grudge between you and the Big Guy.

- It just make sense. Does it not?
Think about it. You, lowered creatures, prove to everybody else that HE is all
perfect, all mighty; when in reality you are proof of the total opposite.

- Hmmmm... I don't know.
It seems to me we are responsible for our own actions and not robots who follow
preset programs. To me that it is a fair situation.

- You don't get it. Do you?
The premise is: you worship Him, you go to heaven. If you don't, its my fault!
Isn't that rich?
Can you see there is not other options out there? No matter what you do, He is
always right.

- At the end of the day I will make my own decisions and let you two to argue who is
right and who is wrong. Because honestly I am tired to be asked to choose a side.
Like Red said at the end of the movie: "Frankly my dear....."

THE CONSTANT QUERIES OF MY SOUL

AFTER ALL THESE YEARS, WAS IT ALL WORTH THE EFFORT SO FAR?
I would like to think so. I mean even if it does not look perfect, I believe it has been productive to a point.
WHAT NOW?
Well, keep going forward, I guess, still the same me so no surprises there.
IS IT THAT SIMPLISTIC?
Not at all. Humans, we can be complex creatures so there is nothing simple in what I will do or I will not.
ARE YOU HAPPY?
That is such a unfair, cliche question to ask. I am content right now.
Happiness is an state of mind not a constant attachment in my life.
HAVE YOU BEEN FAIR?
To whom? To me? Yes. To others, yes.
AFTER THE WARM UP CHIT CHAT MY BROTHER NOW TELL ME, ANY REGRETS?
You are a piece of work indeed. I am not going to generalize by saying everybody have regrets. Instead I am going to answer YES I have regrets. But the more I accept I am a flawed man, the easier it is to acquire humility, vitamin for the soul.
TOUCHE. NOW TELL ME, HOW YOUR DEMONS ARE DOING?
They are doing fine, thank you. I keep them in line. They do not dictate some of my actions like they used to, instead they are enjoying a nice long vacation.
And I do not think so they are eager to go back to work anytime soon.
AH! SARCASTIC AND FUNNY. NICE COMBO. YOU ARE THE INTELLECTUAL TYPE (YOU THINK), EXPLAIN TO ME, HOW DO YOU MANAGE PRACTICAL, EVERYDAY LIFE?
I assume you mean how I live my life without feeling wasting it. Simple, it is all about priorities. You used the correct word, PRACTICAL, that is how I look at life. From a practical point of view. I assess what is important in life at that moment and I make decisions based on that.
CAN I ALSO ASSUME THAT YOU HAVE BECOME "CYNICAL"?
If by cynical you mean a practical approach to life, I have to say YES.
I still believe in others. I am not negative or pessimistic about others.
