THE SCRIBBLER

This is a personal collection of poems, short stories and essays that I have written. They are about life......people.....love...... I will post my poems and other short stories from day to day, whenever my muse pays me a visit. Sometimes the work will be in English, and sometimes it will be in Spanish. My muse is also bilingual.

I AM FORTY FOUR...........AND MORE

I am forty four........and more!
So I can rejoice in my existence
That I have since my tears dry out.

I am forty four........and more!
All is left far behind at a distance
Where everything is brand new without.

I am forty four........and more!
Now my soul learned this resistance
Fulfilling my being with no doubt.

I am forty four........and more!
My life is no more a mere subsistence,
It became like a flower blossoming out.

I AM TWENTY TWO............NO MORE!

I am twenty two.......... no more!
So I can dream naively about life,
And hold you in my chest forever.

I am twenty two...........no more!
Not foreseeing the pain and the strife
That my imperfections molded moreover.

I am twenty two...........no more!
Hoping your heart would always be rife
And love me and would leave me never!

I am twenty two...........no more!
So I could understand there is no fife,
No drums, at the end of our endeavour.

THE POWERS WITHIN

"You see things; and say, "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and say, "Why not?" " (George Bernard Shaw)

I grew up thinking life is unjust
Where poor devils were oppressed.
But I came to conclude at the end
Maybe that it is not completely true.

Unjust is growing up thinking life
Oppresses devils that were not poor.
At the end the conclusion came to me
That the truth is maybe not complete.
